It can compact sandy, semi‑cohesive, and cohesive soils, stabilized subgrades, and asphalt concrete pavements. Therefore, specialized rollers must be used to compact the subgrade and pavement layers, enhancing their strength, impermeability, and density, thereby preventing settlement‑induced damage caused by rainfall, snowfall, and vehicular loads. Different types of rollers should be selected according to the specific application requirements.
