Compared with other types of road rollers, small road rollers are compact and easy to operate. However, even the best equipment requires proper operating procedures to ensure a longer service life. To help you use it more effectively, we’ve compiled a detailed guide below—please read it carefully. Thank you for your support.
Operating Procedure for Small Compactors:
When operating, the small roller must be started first to generate vibration; the internal‑combustion engine should initially be brought up to medium speed before shifting to high speed. Before changing gears or steering, the machine must come to a complete stop, and when shifting, the engine speed should be reduced. Vibration of the roller on hard ground is strictly prohibited. When compacting soft subgrades, apply light pressure 1–2 times first, then engage vibration. During compaction, maintain a consistent vibration frequency; for adjustable small rollers, set the vibration frequency before starting operation—never adjust it while the machine is running.
Adjustment of the rectifier clutch, impact clutch, and brake shall be performed only after the main clutch has been disengaged. Do not use the high‑speed gear when ascending or descending. When making sharp turns, refrain from using the high‑speed gear while rolling on the small idler pulley, including the articulated roller. Do not engage the vibrator while the drum is running at high speed. When shutting down, first stop the vibrator, then set the mechanism to the neutral position, place the transmission in neutral, pull the hand‑brake lever, and after allowing the internal‑combustion engine to idle for a few minutes, shut it off.
Advantages of Small Road Rollers
It features an articulated lathe, hydraulic travel, hydraulic vibration, and a fully hydraulic steering system. With two vibration frequencies and two amplitude levels, it is suitable for compressing packaging of varying thicknesses and a wide range of materials. Equipped with imported hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, and vibration‑resistant bearings, it ensures the machine’s overall reliability. The lathe and cover plate are designed for optimal performance, making maintenance and servicing straightforward. Triple‑stage vibration isolation and a sealed, sound‑proofed cab further enhance operator comfort, which is highly appreciated.
During road construction, we typically use small rollers, with the double‑drum vibratory roller being one of the most common types. Let’s examine its key performance characteristics. It is mechanically driven, ensuring consistent travel speed and, as specified, delivering robust durability.
Thanks to its vibration‑driven design, it delivers substantial impact force and can reliably maintain stability as specified. The equipment features a compact structure, ensuring smooth and stable operation. When selecting it, you can opt for a flatbed trailer to facilitate transportation, allowing for relocation in line with the construction schedule. This approach effectively meets operational requirements. Moreover, its motor is widely acclaimed; all units are equipped with imported electric motors, which help ensure long‑term reliability, high durability, and an extended service life.
